"Go cold turkey" 

"차가운 터키 방식으로 가다"는 관용구로, 어떤 습관이나 중독을 갑자기, 단번에 그만두거나 포기하는 것을 가리킵니다. 

이 표현은 주로 흡연을 그만두거나 술을 끊거나 약물 사용을 중단하는 등 중독성 행동을 중단할 때 사용됩니다.

누군가가 차가운 터키 방식을 선택하면 그 습관이나 물질에 대한 갑작스럽고 완전한 중단을 선택하게 되며, 

일반적으로 그 과정에서는 점진적인 축소나 대체물, 의료 지원을 의지하지 않습니다. 

이 방식은 행동에서의 즉각적이고 급격한 변화를 수반하므로 도전적일 수 있습니다.

예를 들어, 누군가가 흡연을 차가운 터키로 그만두기로 결정하면 담배의 개수를 점진적으로 줄이거나 니코틴 대체 치료를 사용하지 않고 완전히 흡연을 그만두는 것을 의미합니다. 마찬가지로, 술을 차가운 터키로 끊는 것은 알콜을 갑자기 그만두고 다른 물질로 대체하거나 축소하지 않는 것을 의미합니다.
