"미국 캐나다 생활 영어: Hold your horses" 

누군가에게 인내하고 천천히 하거나 기다리라고 말하는 영어 관용구입니다. 

이는 누군가가 어떤 상황으로 급히 들어가거나 성급한 결정을 내릴 때 사용되며, 

그들에게 생각하거나 추가 정보나 지시를 기다리도록 요청하는 데 사용됩니다.

예를 들어, 누군가가 필요한 모든 준비가 갖추기 전에 프로젝트를 시작하려고 열정적이라면 

"기다려! 먼저 필요한 모든 것이 갖추어졌는지 확인해봐야 해."라고 말할 수 있습니다.

본질적으로 이것은 누군가에게 일을 서둘러서 행동하지 말라고 충고하는 방법입니다.

한 마디로

"서두르지 말고 침착하게 기다려"라는 말입니다.

 

예문으로 뉘앙스 확실히 파악하고 가겠습니다.
