"A watched pot never boils" - 지켜보는 주전자는 절대 끓지 않는다. 

 

이 관용구는 무언가가 일어나기를 열심히 기다릴 때, 

그것이 오랜 시간이 걸리는 것처럼 느껴진다는 것을 나타냅니다. 

마치 물이 끓을 때 냄비를 지켜보면 시간이 더디게 흐르고 끓는 과정이 

영원히 걸리는 것처럼 보인다는 느낌과 유사합니다.

이 표현은 인내를 조언하고 무언가의 진행 상황에 지속적으로 집중하는 것이

실제보다 더 오래 걸린다는 생각을 전달하기 위해 종종 사용됩니다. 

 

한마디로 

"참을성 있게 기다려라"

라는 소리입니다.
