여행 영어 (3) 입국 심사

영어회화 연습하기: 여행 영어(3) 입국 심사

입국심사, 

잘못한 것이 없어도 왠지 긴장이 됩니다. 

입국심사관은 경찰도 아닌데 왜 무서운지 모르겠습니다.

부족한 영어실력 때문에 심사관이 알아듣지 못해서

혹시 뭐가 잘못되지는 않을까 걱정이 되어서 그럴 수도 있습니다.

하지만 준비를 잘하면 이런 걱정이 조금 덜 해지지 않을까 싶습니다.

 

항상 같은 질문을 하지는 않지만

어디서 왔는지, 여행지가 어디인지,

여행 기간이 얼마인지, 숙소와 연락처는 무엇인지

이 다섯 가지는 필수로 물어봅니다.

필수 질문을 대화형식으로 만들어보았습니다.

실전이다 생각하고 연습해 보면 좋을 것 같습니다.

 

공항 입국 심사대에서 방문객과 이민심사관의 대화입니다.

파트 A, B로 나뉘고 

A는 영어만 / B는 한국어 해석과 같이 구성되어 있습니다.  

A로 말하기 연습을 하고 본인이 이해한 것이 맞는지 B로 확인하면 됩니다.    

 

시작합니다. 

 

 주제: 공항 입국 심사대, 입국심사관의 대화 

 (At the Immigration Desk - Airport)

-A-

Immigration Officer: "Next in line, please."

 

Traveler: (approaching the desk with a smile) "Hello."

 

Immigration Officer: "Good day. May I have your passport and boarding pass, please?"

 

Traveler: (politely handing over the documents) 

"Of course, here they are."

 

Immigration Officer: (carefully examining the documents) 

"Thank you. What is the purpose of your visit to our country?"

 

Traveler: "I'm excited to explore your beautiful country. 

I've always been fascinated by its rich history, diverse culture, and stunning landscapes."

 

Immigration Officer: "That's wonderful to hear. How long do you intend to stay with us?"

 

Traveler: "I've planned a stay of approximately two weeks. 

I hope to immerse myself in the local culture and make the most of my time here."

 

Immigration Officer: "Sounds like a well-thought-out trip. Do you possess a return ticket?"

 

Traveler: "Yes, certainly. Here's my return ticket, scheduled for the end of my stay."

 

Immigration Officer: (verifying the return ticket)

 "Excellent. Could you kindly provide the address of your accommodation during your visit?"

 

Traveler: "Certainly. I'll be staying at the XYZ Hotel located in the heart of the city. 

It's convenient for exploring the attractions I've planned to visit."

 

Immigration Officer: "Perfect. Additionally, may I have your contact details, please?"

 

Traveler: (providing contact information) 

"Here's my phone number and email address."

 

Immigration Officer: (stamping the passport) 

"Thank you for your cooperation. Your documents are in order, and you're all set to embark on your journey. 

Have a fantastic time experiencing our country's wonders."

 

Traveler: "Thank you very much. I'm truly looking forward to it."

 

Immigration Officer: "You're welcome. Remember, our country has much to offer. 

Should you need any assistance during your stay, feel free to reach out."

 

Traveler: "I appreciate that. Thank you again, and have a wonderful day."

Immigration Officer: "Next in line, please."

다음분 이쪽으로 오세요.

안녕하세요.

안녕하세요. 여권이랑 보딩 패스 좀 주시겠어요?

 

Traveler: (politely handing over the documents) "Of course, here they are."

(공손하게 전달하며) 네. 여기 있습니다. 

Immigration Officer: (carefully examining the documents) 

"Thank you. What is the purpose of your visit to our country?"

(조심스럽게 여권과 보딩 패스를 검사하며)

감사합니다. 저희 국가에 방문하신 목적이 뭔가요? 

Traveler: "I'm excited to explore your beautiful country. 

I've always been fascinated by its rich history, diverse culture, and stunning landscapes."

이 아름다운 나라를 여행하고 싶어서 왔습니다. 

Immigration Officer: "That's wonderful to hear. How long do you intend to stay with us?"

듣기 좋은 말이네요. 저희 국가에 얼마 동안 여행하실 건가요?

Traveler: "I've planned a stay of approximately two weeks. 

I hope to immerse myself in the local culture and make the most of my time here."

2주 정도 머무를 계획입니다. 

현지 문화에 몰입하고 이곳에서 보내는 시간을 최대한 활용하고 싶습니다. 

Immigration Officer: "Sounds like a well-thought-out trip. Do you possess a return ticket?"

알차게 준비하셨네요. 돌아가는 비행기 티켓은 가지고 있으세요?

Traveler: "Yes, certainly. Here's my return ticket, scheduled for the end of my stay."

네, 당연하죠. 여기 있습니다. 여정 마지막 날에 돌아가는 티켓입니다. 

Immigration Officer: (verifying the return ticket)

 "Excellent. Could you kindly provide the address of your accommodation during your visit?"

(돌아가는 비행기 티켓을 확인하며)

좋은 계획이네요. 머무는 동안 머무실 숙소 주소 좀 알려주실 수 있으세요?

Traveler: "Certainly. I'll be staying at the XYZ Hotel located in the heart of the city. 

It's convenient for exploring the attractions I've planned to visit."

그럼요. 도시 중심부에 있는 XYZ호텔이 머무를 겁니다. 

제가 방문하려고 했던 주요 장소들을 구경하기에 편리한 위치더라고요.

Immigration Officer: "Perfect. Additionally, may I have your contact details, please?"

훌륭하네요. 그리고 연락처도 하나 알려주시겠어요?

Traveler: (providing contact information)

 "Here's my phone number and email address."

(연락처를 제공하며)

전화번호와 이메일 주소 여기 있습니다. 

Immigration Officer: (stamping the passport) 

"Thank you for your cooperation. Your documents are in order, and you're all set to embark on your journey. 

Have a fantastic time experiencing our country's wonders."

(입국 도장을 찍어주며)

협조해 주셔서 감사합니다. 서류 다 검토되었고요. 여행을 시작하시면 됩니다. 

저희 국가의 아름다운 광경도 구경하시고 좋은 시간 보내세요. 

Traveler: "Thank you very much. I'm truly looking forward to it."

감사합니다. 정말 기대돼요. 

Immigration Officer: "You're welcome. Remember, our country has much to offer.
