안녕하세요. 

미국영어, 영어회화 알려드리는 카니잉글리시입니다. 

 

해외여행 중에 현지 식당을 가면 의외로 영어가 딱히 필요 없습니다.

사진이나 그림으로 알아보기 쉽게 되어있고 

휴대폰 카메라만 갖다 대면 번역기가 다 알아서 한글로 번역까지 해주기 때문이죠.

 

그러나 고급 레스토랑에 가면 대부분 사진 메뉴가 없고

웨이터가 직접 음식 설명을 해줍니다.

고급서비스의 일종이라고 보시면 됩니다.

 

특히 미국, 캐나다나 유럽의 고급 레스토랑의 웨이터는

그냥 음식을 전달해 주는 사람이 아닙니다. 

음식과 와인의 전문가라고 보면 됩니다. 

프로들이죠. 

음식, 와인의 프로들에게 듣는 설명도 고급 레스토랑의 

비싼 음식 값에 포함되어 있다고 생각하시면 됩니다.

고급 지식에도 함께 지불을 하는 것이죠. 

 

물론 메뉴에 사진이 없어도 

번역기를 보면서 this and this 주세요라고 말해도

음식을 주문해서 먹을 수 있지만.

웨이터가 직접 설명해 주는 고급 서비스까지 경험한다면

돈이 아깝지 않을 것입니다.   

음식 이름도 외국어라서 발음도 어렵지만

당당하게 영어로 주문을 하면 함께 여행하시는 분의
