여행 영어 (8) 길 찾기

안녕하세요, 

미국 영어회화 알려드리는 카니잉글리시입니다. 

낯선 타지에서 길을 잃으면 난감합니다.

길을 잃고 헤맬 때 친절한 현지인을 만난다면 구세주가 따로 없을 것입니다.

그런데 길을 알려줘도 말이 통해야 제대로 찾아갈 수 있을 것입니다.

다행히도 영어를 구사하는 사람을 만난다면 도움을 받아

원하는 목적지에 무사히 도착할 수 있겠죠.

영어를 미리 배워두면 이럴 때 요긴하게 활용할 수 있을 것입니다. 

 

이번 여행 영어 주제는 

Mickey와 Mini가 프랑스 파리에서 길을 잃은 상황에서의 대화입니다.

다행히도 영어를 구사하는 파리지앵을 만나서 도움을 받고

무사히 목적지에 도착하는 내용입니다. 

 

파트 A, B로 나뉘고 

A는 영어만 / B는 한국어 해석과 같이 구성되어 있습니다.  

A로 말하기 연습을 하고 본인이 이해한 것이 맞는지 B로 확인하면 됩니다.    

 

시작합니다!

-A-

Mickey: (looking a bit disoriented) "Excuse me, do you happen to speak English?"

Random Person: (warmly) "Yes, I do. How can I assist you?"

Mini: "We're actually trying to find our way to the Eiffel Tower, but we've managed to lose our sense of direction.

Would you be able to help us out with some directions?"

Random Person: "Absolutely, happy to help! The Eiffel Tower is a definite must-see.

You've got a few options for getting there.

Firstly, if you're up for a leisurely walk, it's about a 30-minute stroll from here."

Mickey: "That sounds manageable. What if we prefer to take public transportation?"

Random Person: "Not a problem at all. If you'd rather use the subway, 

just walk down this street and take a right at the next intersection. 

You'll come across a metro station. 

Hop on Line 6, heading towards Charles de Gaulle - Étoile, and disembark at the Bir Hakeim station.

The Eiffel Tower is a mere stone's throw away."

Mini: "Thank you for the detailed information. How about taking a bus? Is that an option?"

Random Person: "Definitely! Taking a bus is another convenient choice. 

Right here at this very bus stop, you can catch Bus 42. It's a direct route to the Eiffel Tower. 

Plus, the journey is quite scenic, so you'll get a glimpse of some charming sights along the way."

Mickey: "That's really helpful. We're grateful for your assistance."

Random Person: "You're very welcome. Navigating Paris can be a bit bewildering at times, 

but with a bit of guidance, you'll find your way to the Eiffel Tower without any trouble."

Mini: "Thanks again. Your directions have given us more confidence."

Random Person: "No worries at all. Enjoy your visit to the Eiffel Tower 

and have a fantastic time exploring our captivating city."

Mickey: "We're looking forward to it. Thanks to your help, we're back on track."

Random Person: "I'm glad I could be of assistance. Have an incredible day!"

(약간 혼란스러워 보이는 미키) 실례합니다. 혹시 영어 가능하세요?

Random Person: (warmly) "Yes, I do. How can I assist you?"

네, 가능합니다. 뭐 도와드릴까요?

Mini: "We're actually trying to find our way to the Eiffel Tower, but we've managed to lose our sense of direction.

저희가 지금 에펠탑에 가려고 하는데요, 길을 잃어서요.

Would you be able to help us out with some directions?"

혹시 가는 길 아시면 좀 도와주실 수 있으세요?

Random Person: "Absolutely, happy to help! The Eiffel Tower is a definite must-see.

당연하죠. 기꺼이 도와드릴게요! 에펠탑은 꼭 보셔야죠.

 

You've got a few options for getting there.

가는 방법이 몇 가지 있어요.

첫 번째, 여기저기 둘러보며 가는 게 괜찮으시면 여기서 30분 정도 걸으시면 되고요. 

Mickey: "That sounds manageable. What if we prefer to take public transportation?"

괜찮을 것 같네요. 근데 대중교통으로 가고 싶으면요?

Random Person: "Not a problem at all. If you'd rather use the subway,

그것도 있어요. 지하철을 타고 싶으시면 이 길을 따라서 가시다가 다음 교차로에서 우측으로 가시면 돼요. 

그러면 지하철역이 나올 거예요. 

6호선을 타고 찰스 드 골-에투아르 방향으로 가서 비르 하켐 역에서 내리시면 에펠탑이 바로 나타날 거예요.  

 

Mini: "Thank you for the detailed information. How about taking a bus? Is that an option?"
자세한 정보 감사해요. 버스로 가는 방법도 있나요?

 

Random Person: "Definitely! Taking a bus is another convenient choice. 

Right here at this very bus stop, you can catch Bus 42. It's a direct route to the Eiffel Tower.

네 있어요. 버스 타고 가는 것도 편리하죠. 

바로 여기 있는 버스 정류장에서 42번을 타시면 돼요. 에펠탑까지 바로 가는 노선이에요.

그리고 가는 길이 경치가 좋아서 매력적인 풍경을 감상하며 갈 수 있죠.
