안녕하세요 

미국에서 자주 쓰이는 생활 영어회화 알려드리는 카니잉글리시입니다. 

 

이번에 알려드릴 표현은 The ball is in your court 공이 당신의 코트에 있습니다

스포츠 강국답게 공으로 이디엄이 된 멋진 미국식 영어표현입니다.

 

이 표현은 다른 사람의 책임이나 차례로 행동을 취하거나 결정을 내려야하는 상황에서 사용됩니다.

상대방이 주체가 되어 이제 다음 단계를 취할 것으로 기대되는 것을 의미하며,

그들이 특정 상황에서 움직이거나 결정을 내릴 것을 기대할때 말합니다.

따라서 누군가가 무언가를 실행해야하거나 결정을 내려야 할 때 자주 사용됩니다.  

 

조리 있게 설명하기란 언제나 어려운데요. 

쉽게 "이제 네 몫이다", "이제 너에게 달렸다", "이제 네가 결정하면 된다"

이런 말이라고 생각하면 됩니다.  

 

예문으로 뉘앙스 확실히 파악하고 가겠습니다.
