이 속담은 지나치게 호기심이 강한 것을 경계하며, 너무 꼬치꼬치 물어보거나 더 나을 때는 그냥 내버려 두어야 할 것에 관여하면 문제나 부정적인 결과에 이를 수 있다고 경고합니다. 마치 고양이의 호기심이 위험한 상황으로 인도할 수 있는 것처럼, 사람들의 지나친 호기심은 때로는 불리한 결과로 이어질 수 있습니다. 이 속담은 사람들에게 호기심을 조심하며, 건드려서는 안 될 문제에 간섭하지 말아야 한다는 것을 권장합니다.
